Overcoming anxiety is about developing your power for positive influence. Anxiety is rooted in having no sense of control over yourself or life.
A sense of control comes from within and it affects your experience of life. Overcoming anxiety grows from learning how to have positive perceptions and responses to yourself and to life.
"I'm alive in there somewhere. I can feel me twisting."
Brandi Carlile,
Eye of the Needle
Your fear is not without reason. Many people are stuck in fear and anxiety. You may have spent your childhood with people stuck in fear. Have you thought about the fears (conscious or unconscious) that surround you?
It is critical to remember this, too, shall pass. Anxiety and fear are not your ultimate truth.
Make friends with your fear...at least you won't have to be afraid of fear, at least you won't be at war with yourself.

a. Fear of danger is healthy!
b. Fear is the basic motivator in the world...fear of enemies,
old age/death, of rejection, of oppression, sickness, poverty,
failure, loss, mistakes.
c. Fear is constantly used by governments, advertising media,
insurance companies, the drug companies, the health care
industry. The marketplace uses fear and insecurity to
increase market share.
d. Recent generations lived in fear of wars, the great
depression, plagues and disease, oppression, child labor,
illiteracy, and gender and ethnic discrimination...
(to name just a few).
e. "The endless worrisome events of the world feed fear and it
is contagious. Fear is as limitless as the human imagination."
David Hawkins, M.D., Ph.D.

So…what to do?
Obviously, you can give up...many do! Numb out. Exist. Live a false, conventional life of consumerism, ambition, and addiction. Deny yourself and your negative feelings. Believe that wanting more for your life is selfish and ungrateful. Spiral down into grief, depression, guilt and shame.
Or … make a commitment. Make a commitment to your Self as a powerful strategy for overcoming anxiety.
Accept that you have only a fragment of the truth. Accept that your depression and anxiety are ultimately serving your highest purpose.
You are hitting bottom and it feels like hell. You are going through an important PHASE in becoming more WHOLE. Your pain is a signal that you KNOW there is more to life and you REQUIRE achieving it.
Your pain is telling you that anxiety and depression is not IT. It is motivating you. Overcoming anxiety is something almost everyone has to go through. Commit NOW, in this moment, THIS now…that you must, can, and will do what it takes. You are not alone. Simply commit to your SELF that things must and will get better.
Here is a preliminary, "must-do" commitment...in my never humble opinion (or write your own).
Bring your awareness and inner vision to your heart space and look deep while you say:
“I do not know everything. I do not know what is possible or what I can realize.
Every tiny step I take is like dropping a pebble into a pond that ripples out with infinite possibility. I commit to experimenting with possibility.”
Why does this help?
Because you become the strong, wise leader that you need. Overcoming anxiety is to lead yourself out of being a slave to fear. Simply accept fear as part of life, a basic survival mechanism, as part of your brain.
Here are two "choices"...
One is to be afraid of fear and its unpleasant sensations, to see fear as failure and weakness. Since there is no way to avoid fear, the result is a life run by fear OF fear. This prevents the self-confidence gained by surrendering and being compassionate with fear. This prevents developing your positive influence.
Or...practice relaxing into fear instead of running from it. Fear is necessary, even an asset...it is healthy, unavoidable, and motivating.
You may amaze yourself
"Research literature indicates that religious/spiritual alignment with faith is capable of reducing overall levels of fear. It shifts brain dominance where stress hormones are replaced by endorphins, serotonins and other neurotransmitters."
David Hawkins, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Hawkins also notes, "All life is based on faith by whatever name it is called. Even the atheist has faith in his beliefs."
Believe in yourself. Overcoming anxiety can only come from standing in who you are with strength and intention.
Your heart reverberates to your commitment. Feel and see a golden ball of warm, divine energy in your heart. It radiates and warms you as you repeat:
“I do not know everything. I do not know what is possible or what I can realize. Every tiny step I take is like dropping a pebble into a pond that ripples out with infinite possibility. I commit to experimenting with possibility.”
Overcoming anxiety is a lot easier when you know some simple steps and are committed to practicing them.
*TIP for Overcoming Anxiety
Feel the difference between these two ways of asking for help:
1-- "Oh please please please god, let it be so..."
OR
2-- "Your love, healing light, and infinite wisdom are deeply welcome and appreciated."
