Overcoming Anxiety and Fear of Fear
Overcoming anxiety is your reward when you understand that you have become a slave to your fear OF FEAR.
Accept fear as part of life, as a basic survival mechanism, as part of your brain. We are hard wired to be chased by lions, tigers, and bears (and THEY usually won!)
Your fear of feeling fear is EASY to heal. Ever see the movie "The Sixth Sense" ? If not, please do. It is a perfect example of overcoming symptoms of mild anxiety attack and stepping into life and courage. When you are done with your fear of fear, you look back and marvel that you felt anxiety at all!

The solution is so simple it is easy to miss -- so let me say it one more time. PRACTICE FEELING FEAR. Overcome your symptoms of mild anxiety attack with anxiety self help. Really! And you can always get a little help along the way, it isn't that hard (I promise!)
Make friends with your feelings (especially fear) and overcoming anxiety is easier than you think.
It is critical to remember-"this, too, shall pass". Anxiety and fear are not your final truth.
If you are ready for something ELSE to talk about, if you are BORED with anxiety (finally), then just .... GO THERE. It's ok, anxiety never killed anyone. Running away from it however...
Remember... Your fear is not without reason. People all around you are stuck in fear and anxiety. You may have spent your childhood with people who are stuck in fear. What are some of the fears (conscious or unconscious) that surround you?
Overcoming anxiety is a paradox: Get RELAXED about fear. Make friends with fear and you won't have to be at war with yourself. Declare: "I now face and overcome symptoms of mild anxiety attack."
If that seems lame, take these points for overcoming anxiety to heart:
a. Fear of danger is healthy!

b. Fear is the basic motivator in the world...fear of enemies,old age/death, of rejection, of oppression, sickness, poverty,failure, loss, mistakes. c. Fear is constantly used by governments, advertising, insurance companies, drug companies, and the health care industry. Fear and insecurity increase market share.
d. Recent generations lived in fear of wars, the great depression, plagues and disease, oppression, child labor, illiteracy, and gender and ethnic discrimination...(to name just a few).
e. "The endless worrisome events of the world feed fear and it is contagious. Fear is as limitless as the human imagination." David Hawkins, M.D., Ph.D.

So…what to do?
Obviously, you can give up...many do! Numb out. Exist. Live a false, conventional life of consumerism, ambition, and addiction. Deny your negative feelings. Believe that wanting more is selfish and ungrateful. Spiral down into grief, depression, guilt and shame. See overcoming anxiety as beyond your capacity!
Or … Make a commitment to your Self as a powerful strategy for overcoming anxiety.
Accept that you have only a fragment of the truth. Accept that your depression and anxiety are ultimately serving your highest purpose. You are going through an important PHASE in becoming more WHOLE. Your pain is a signal that you KNOW there is more to life and you REQUIRE achieving it.
Overcoming anxiety works because anxiety and depression are not YOU. They merely motivate you to change. Overcoming anxiety is something almost everyone has to go through. Commit NOW, in this moment, THIS now…that you must, can, and will do what it takes. You are not alone. Things must (and shall) get better.
Here is a preliminary "must-do" commitment...(in my never humble opinion).

Bring your inner vision to your heart space and look deep within while you say:“I do not know everything. I do not know what is possible or what I can realize. Every tiny step is like dropping a pebble into a pond that ripples out with infinite possibility. I commit to possibility.”

Why does this help?
Because you become the strong, wise leader that you need.
Overcoming anxiety is a lot easier when you are committed to practicing!
