Loved. Sheltered. Protected. - Depression Poems

by Naureen Hossain
(Gaithersburg, Maryland)

Backround: (2011) This poem is about a girl who just wants someone to care for her. She wants to be Loved. Sheltered. And Protected.

My heart. It aches to be loved. Sheltered. Protected.
One look and I'm done.
You've hurt me. I can't trust. I can't love.
I want to be that daughter you want me to be.
I try so hard to be her.
But, I'm never good enough.
My best is never going to be enough.
You say you love me. But, do you ever show it?
Show me you care, not about my future, but me. Only me.
That first child you had, that girl who wants to be the best,
But, only so you love her. I'm not a mirror.
I want to be loved. Sheltered. Protected.

Beautiful~! Thank you. Imagine what it would be like, what could have been, if you had your wish. Grow that vision feeling. Love it, shelter it, protect it.

with love
