How to Deal With Depression:
A Body n Mind Therapy


Learn how to deal with depression using a Chi Kung exercise for harmonizing your Heart/Fire Element (one of Five Elements of Chinese Acupuncture.


With a strong heart/fire element, you have radiance, laughter, companionship. I always think of "a pile of puppies".


Naturally, when you are depressed, this fun and sunny part of you is not shining through.


Try to imagine having had safe relationships in your past. What would you be like if you felt safe to have an open heart, to trust others, to trust yourself? To know you ARE ok...regardless of how others behave?

Many find it is difficult to imagine! But in order to create changes in your life, something about you has to change (so you can attract something new).

So use your body n mind with this heart opening exercise. It is a great place to start and to get new energy flowing.

How to deal with depression
The movement for your HEART energy


Without safety in relationships, your energy goes to defense and protection rather than connection and joy. This movement opens your heart!



~1~ As you tone the sound "HAAAaaaaaaa", feel your physical heart vibrate. Be aware that you are activating joy, love and compassion. Release all toxins and anything that comes in the way of unconditional love and a healthy heart.

~2~ Inhale, raise arms at sides to over head.

~3~ Grab chi with fists (facing toward you), pull chi with fists to level with your face as you hold your breath and sink into a sit position.

~4~ EXHALE long “HAAAA” as you stand, opening your hands & stretching hands/fingers over your head, hands facing each other.

~5~ Three harmonizing breaths -- Each movement is followed by 3 harmonizing breaths. The tongue is on the roof for the inhale, relaxed on floor of mouth for open mouth exhale.
