How to Deal With Depression: An Exercise in Self Worth
When you wonder how to deal with depression, a crucial area to explore is what is called the Metal Element in Chinese Medicine.
The Metal Element represents "what you most value." What is "gold" to you?
Physically, it offers wisdom about how to deal with depression through the lungs and the large intestine. The large intestine says "let go of what you don't need," - let go of what poisons you. Metal's season is Autumn...when nature "lets go".
The Lungs say "breathe"!...breathe in life, breathe in Divine Life Force. Your lungs are where you hold your grief. We are unaware of how much grief we carry.
Get in touch with your grief...what went wrong in your life? What do you regret? What are you sad about?
How is...(and how WAS)
your relationship with
your Father? Metal
represents three fathers:
~your real father,
~the "divine" father,
~your internal father.
Do you approve of
yourself? Are you
living in integrity,
aligned with your ideals?
Does your life show
that you value yourself?
Values, purpose, and self
worth are connected with
the maturity and respect
of Father. Your Metal
Element represents
inspiration, divinity,
appreciation, and
acknowledgement.
This exercise from Chi Kung helps you release grief and breathe in appreciation for life. It connects you to truth.
Your intention (and action) to release anything getting in the way of self worth, inner strength, and integrity is a powerful "how to deal with depression."
