Depression Quiz for Nurture and Support
Depression Quiz: Twenty Questions...Are you feeling supported? Can you see how important that is for beating depression?
If you ask someone to name
winners of the Heisman Trophy
or the Nobel Peace Prize (for
example),...they probably won't
have much to say.
If you ask them to name some-
one who taught them something
important, or who made them feel
special, or helped them through
a difficult time...they probably
have plenty to say.
The people who make a difference are the one's who care.
How would you most like to be nurtured and supported?
Before you take the depression quiz, imagine being hugged and held and soothed. Let your tender child-self crawl into a warm lap and get hugged. Can you imagine that you are also the hugger?... Can you feel yourself giving love and hugs to
the sad part of you?
1. Do you offer sympathy, especially to yourself? Or do you think something like "Get over it!" or "That's pathetic!"
2. Can you sympathize with other's - free of the need to fix their problems?
3. Do you feel deprived or needy?
4. Are you sometimes overly emotional?
5. Do you make a point of being 'independent'?
6. Do you have a tendency to "mind other people's business"...or think about others' lives and problems?
7. As a child, did you have nurturing, stable relationships with your family "tribe"?
8. Do you have stable relationships with your current 'tribes' of family, work, community?
9. Do you feel 'at home'- in yourself or in a home you have created?
10. Do you have satisfying 'roles' in life...in love, work, play, family, community?
11. Do you feel 'insecure'?
12. Do you accept and "digest" what life brings…food, experiences, feelings, ideas?
13. Are you overwhelmed with a difficult change - or with too many changes?
14. Do you work through difficulties in relationships? or tend to walk away?
15. Do you have an 'attitude of gratitude'?
16. Are you in touch with your inner body, your knowingness, your needs?
17. Are you able to communicate your needs?
18. Can you allow others to meet your needs - as well as meet your own?
19. Is it easy to feel sympathy for others…but not for yourself?
20. Are you a worrier?
When you take a depression test, it helps you to see areas of your life that need healing. What do you notice about being energized...or DE-energized...regarding caring and support?

This depression quiz is a bit long and non-specific. I call it the "caterpillar goo" quiz. Did you know that caterpillars turn into total goo before they transform into butterflies? We do that too... everything--inside and out, melts down.
"I can't remember what life was like before because I am not that person any more, ~ but I do know I used to be pretty darned miserable."

”Laura identified abandonment issues that no therapist ever had, pinpointing years of my childhood that imprinted me.
I am hooked! This work is interesting, rejuvenating, quite different and I feel uplifted at the end of every session.
I am a different person today than I was six weeks ago. My abandonment issues are GREATLY diminished. I am much more aware of my triggers, know how to manage them and feel more in control and happier than I've been in a long time. The sense of peace and optimism is wonderful.
Some of my friends think this work sounds crazy, I am a convert and am pleased beyond words that my search brought me to Laura and Resonance Repatterning work.”
